ViaSanto Account Deletion

App: ViaSanto · Developer: ViaSanto Marcelina Goździewska-Ćwirlej · Last updated: 15 October 2026 · Version: 1.0

The User may delete their ViaSanto Account and the associated data at any time. This document describes two ways of deleting the Account, the Grace Period, the scope of the data deleted, and the data kept by the Service Provider together with its retention period. Capitalised terms used in this document have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Service (section II).

1. Deleting the Account in the Application (recommended method)

  1. The User should open the ViaSanto Application and sign in to the Account that is to be deleted.
  2. The User should select the gear icon (“Settings”) in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. On the bottom bar of Settings, the User should select the tab with the person icon (“Profile”), and then, in the “ACCOUNT” section, the “Account” item.
  4. In the “DELETE ACCOUNT” section, the User should select “Delete account”, confirm in the first window with the “Next” button and in the second window with the “Delete account” button.

Deleting the Account requires an internet connection. After confirmation, the data stored on the device is deleted immediately and the User is signed out. The data stored on the server is permanently deleted after the Grace Period (30 days) described in section 3. If the User signed in with Apple, the link with the “Sign in with Apple” service is revoked at the moment the request is made.

Before deleting the Account, the User may download a copy of their data. This is done with the “Download my data” item in the “YOUR DATA” section, on the same screen (Settings → the “Profile” tab → “Account”).

2. Deleting the Account by email

A User who no longer has access to the Application may request deletion of the Account by sending an email from the address linked to the Account to contact@viasanto.com with the subject “ViaSanto account deletion”. If the Account was created with the “Sign in with Apple” button using a hidden email address, the email should be sent from the address associated with the User’s Apple ID and should include the User’s Username (nickname) in the Application. The Service Provider registers the request without undue delay, no later than 30 days after receiving it, and confirms this by email; the Service Provider may ask for confirmation that the Account belongs to the person making the request. The Grace Period (section 3) runs from the registration of the request.

3. Grace Period (30 days)

The Grace Period lasts 30 days from confirming “Delete account” in the Application or, for a request sent by email, from its registration by the Service Provider. During this time the User can cancel the deletion of the Account by sending an email to contact@viasanto.com from the address linked to the Account; signing in is not required. After cancellation, the User keeps their data, Diamonds and Premium. If the User signed in with Apple, Apple may ask for “Sign in with Apple” to be confirmed again at the next sign-in. After the Grace Period, the Account and data are deleted permanently and the deletion cannot be undone.

4. Data deleted

  • Account data: email address, Username (nickname), first name and surname received at sign-in (if provided), sign-in data.
  • Profile and User Content: profile photo and cover photo, description, patron saint, parish, Intentions, Posts, Comments, Reactions, chat Messages, photos and videos, membership of Communities and Prayer Groups.
  • Activity data: prayer log, Streak (days of prayer), Prayer Points, progress and achievements, unlocked Rosary Designs, Diamond balance and history.
  • Purchase data stored by ViaSanto (Subscription status, transaction identifiers).
  • Push notification token, settings and usage statistics data linked to the Account.

5. Data kept and its retention period

  • For 6 years: the Account identifier, a cryptographic hash of the email address (not the address itself), the record of consents given and documents accepted, and the date of and reason for deletion. This data is used solely to defend against possible claims and is deleted afterwards.
  • For 2 years: content reports and the log of moderation decisions (no longer linked to the deleted Account).
  • For 90 days: the log of actions of the ViaSanto Assistant, the automated chat Moderator.
  • For one year after cancellation: the record of a cancelled Account deletion request.
  • Communities and Prayer Groups founded by the User remain for their other members, but are no longer linked to the User’s Account.
  • Transaction history also remains with Apple or Google under their privacy policies, and data whose retention is required by law (e.g. tax law) is kept by the Service Provider for the period required by law.

6. Premium Subscription

Deleting the Account does not cancel the Subscription in the store. To avoid further charges, the Subscription should be cancelled first: on iPhone in Settings → the User’s name (Apple ID) → Subscriptions; on Android in the Google Play app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Unused Diamonds and the remaining Premium period are forfeited when the Account is permanently deleted (details: Terms of Service, section VII; Purchase and Subscription Terms).
